The phenomenon known as the “blood moon” is actually the result of sunlight scattering in the Earth’s atmosphere.
During a lunar eclipse, The Earth is between the Sun and the Moon, and the Earth’s shadow falls on the Moon’s disk.
If the Earth’s atmosphere did not exist, the Moon would be completely dark and disappear during an eclipse, but due to the presence of the atmosphere, the Sun’s rays are refracted and scattered as they pass through its layers.
In this process, shorter wavelengths of light, such as blue and violet, are scattered more and are deflected, while longer wavelengths, especially red and orange light, have more power to pass through the atmospheric layers and reach the Moon’s surface. For this reason, the Moon’s disk appears reddish-orange during a total eclipse.
This lunar eclipse is a precursor to the big event next year. A total solar eclipse will be visible in a sliver of Europe on August 12, 2026 .

This lunar eclipse lasted more than 5 hours, but 3.5 hours of this eclipse were suitable for photography.
During this time that passed quickly, many photos were taken with different tools with previous planning and at different focal lengths, sometimes combining unique subjects of the Red Mountain region.
The time lapse below is the result of combining 950 photos taken by the RC telescope from the moon entering the Earth’s shadow to its complete exit from the Earth’s shadow. The occultation of a number of stars of magnitude 9 and 10 from the constellation Aquarius is also visible.

خسوف کامل (ماه خونین )
پدیده‌ای که به نام «ماه خونین» شناخته می‌شود، در حقیقت نتیجه‌ی پراکندگی نور خورشید در جو زمین است. هنگام ماه گرفتگی، زمین بین خورشید و ماه قرار می‌گیرد و سایه زمین روی قرص ماه می‌افتد
اگر جو زمین وجود نداشت، ماه در هنگام گرفتگی باید کاملاً تاریک و ناپدید می‌شد، اما به دلیل وجود جو، پرتوهای خورشید هنگام عبور از لایه‌های آن دچار شکست و پراکندگی می‌شوند
در این فرآیند، نورهای با طول موج کوتاه‌تر مانند آبی و بنفش بیشتر پراکنده می‌شوند و از مسیر خارج می‌گردند، در حالی که طول موج‌های بلندتر، به‌ویژه نور قرمز و نارنجی، توان عبور بیشتری دارند و از لایه‌های جوی گذشته و به سطح ماه می‌رسند. به همین دلیل قرص ماه در هنگام خسوف کامل به رنگ سرخ متمایل به نارنجی دیده می‌شود
این ماه گرفتگی پیش‌درآمدی بر رویداد بزرگ سال آینده است. خورشیدگرفتگی کامل که در یک باریکه از اروپا در تاریخ ۲۱ مرداد ۱۴۰۵ قابل مشاهده خواهد بود. این رویداد تنها در اسپانیا و ایسلند قابل مشاهده خواهد بود برای اطلاع اینجا را ببینید
این ماه گرفتگی بیش از ۵ ساعت طول کشید اما ۳.۵ ساعت این خسوف مناسب عکاسی بود
در این فاصله که به سرعت سپری شد با برنامه ریزی قبلی و در فوکال های مختلف عکس های زیادی توسط ابزارهای مختلف ، گاها با ترکیب سوژه های منحصر به فرد منطقه کوهسرخ تهیه شد
تایم لپس زیرحاصل ترکیب ۹۵۰ عکس گرفته شده توسط تلسکوپ ریچی کرتین از ورود ماه به سایه زمین تا خروج کامل آن از سایه زمین است اختفای تعدادی ستاره از قدر ۹ و ۱۰ از صورت فلکی دلو نیز قابل مشاهده است
