Soldiers’ Tower is a bell and clock tower at the University of Toronto that commemorates members of the university who served in the World Wars. Construction was completed in 1924 at a cost of $252,500, The names of those lost in the Great War (1914–18) are etched on a sheltered stone screen adjacent to the tower’s base, while the inner walls of the tower’s stone archway are inscribed with the names of those lost in the Second World War (1939–45)
Old City Hall
Located at the corner of Queen St. W. and Bay St., Old City Hall is one of Toronto’s most iconic buildings. Built in 1899 and designed by E.J. Lennox, it served as Toronto’s City Hall until 1965, was designated a National Historic Site in 1989 and functioned as a provincial courthouse until April 2025.
Constructed in the Richardsonian Romanesque style with two-tone red sandstone from across Canada, the building is adorned with carvings of animals and humans (including, reportedly, Lennox himself). The lobby’s interior features one of the city’s few secular stained-glass windows, showing “The Union of Commerce and Industry.”
The Cenotaph is now the site of one of the longest-running Remembrance Day ceremonies in Toronto, taking place each Nov. 11
Casa Loma
Casa Loma Palace, now an open-air museum of history and architecture, is a famous Hollywood film location and has been a place for special events and occasions for over a century.
Built in 1914, this castle on a hill overlooking Toronto is regarded as a treasured heritage landmark, and from the top of one of its towers you can see stunning views of Toronto.

Gooderham Building
Among the many places worth visiting in the Saint Lawrence neighborhood, especially for an architecture buff, is the Gooderham Building. Hardly five stories tall, wedged in a triangular intersection between Front and Wellington streets, this structure is one of the most photographed sights in the city.
The building was actually built in 1892—10 years earlier than the New York’s Flatiron Building—by architect David Roberts Jr. for the office of Gooderham & Worts, the largest manufacturer of distilled spirits in Canada during the 1830s.

ساختمان گودرهام
در میان مکانهای فراوانی که در محله سنت لارنس ارزش بازدید دارند، به خصوص برای علاقهمندان به معماری، ساختمان گودرهام قرار دارد. این ساختمان که به سختی پنج طبقه ارتفاع دارد و در تقاطع مثلثی بین خیابانهای فرانت و ولینگتون قرار گرفته است، یکی از دیدنیترین مناظر شهر است که بیشترین عکسها از آن گرفته شده است
این ساختمان در واقع در سال ۱۸۹۲ – ۱۰ سال زودتر از ساختمان فلتآیرون نیویورک – توسط معمار دیوید رابرتز جونیور برای دفتر گودرهام و وورتس، بزرگترین تولیدکننده مشروبات الکلی تقطیر شده در کانادا در دهه ۱۸۳۰، ساخته شد
