The solar eclipse of April 8, 2024, also known as the Great North American Eclipse, was a total solar eclipse visible across a band covering parts of North America, from Mexico to Canada and crossing the contiguous United States.
A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby obscuring the Sun. A total solar eclipse occurs when the Moon’s apparent diameter is larger than the Sun’s, which blocks all direct sunlight and allows some of the Sun’s corona and solar prominences to be seen. Totality occurs only in a limited path across Earth’s surface, with the partial solar eclipse visible over a larger surrounding region.
Canada
totality was visible through parts of Southern Ontario (including Leamington, Fort Erie, Hamilton, Niagara Falls, Kingston, Prince Edward County, and Cornwall).A partial solar eclipse was visible in all of the other parts of Canada, except the western part of Yukon and the western tip of the Northwest Territories.

The Moon’s Shadow
This animated GIF shows the Moon’s shadow arcing across the Pacific, then traversing North America, and ending at sunset not far from Spain. The very longest duration will be near Torreon Mexico at 4 minutes and 27 seconds.
Niagara Falls is a favorite place for many people and a beautiful sight for photographers. The eclipse view will be Niagara Falls. My plan for this eclipse was also Niagara Falls. Unfortunately, the sky was cloudy on the day of the eclipse.

خورشیدگرفتگی ۸ آوریل ۲۰۲۴، که با نام خورشیدگرفتگی بزرگ آمریکای شمالی نیز شناخته می‌شود، یک خورشیدگرفتگی کامل بود که در نواری از آمریکای شمالی، از مکزیک تا کانادا و از ایالات متحده آمریکا قابل مشاهده بود
خورشیدگرفتگی زمانی رخ می‌دهد که ماه از بین زمین و خورشید عبور کند و در نتیجه خورشید را بپوشاند.در خورشیدگرفتگی کامل ، قطر ظاهری ماه بزرگتر از قطر ظاهری خورشید است ، وتمام نور مستقیم خورشید توسط ماه مسدود می‌شود در این حالت برخی از تاج و برآمدگی‌های خورشید دیده می شود ، خورشیدگرفتگی کامل فقط در یک مسیر محدود در سطح زمین رخ می‌دهد و خورشیدگرفتگی جزئی در یک منطقه بزرگتر اطراف قابل مشاهده است
